I once saw that most of the expensive cosmetics have drug store counterparts. Is that true? And if so—what is comparable to the Clinique stuff?
I use their 3 step skin care stuff. What is comparable to that?
Thanks!

Girls, would you be interested in this type of store?

If you found a store that offered well-known brands of cosmetics, skin care, etc, in exchange for a review of the product, would you be willing to go inside?
You would have your choice of 3 different size bags, the smallest bag having the smallest price tag, probably no more than $5 and the biggest bag around $20. Once you get your bag you have free reign over the entire store, taking whatever you want. Whatever fits in the bag is yours to keep.
When you’re ready to leave you’re handed a survey that you must complete, based on what products you have selected. You have ample time to complete the survey and mail it back. If you choose not to complete the survey, you will be charged an additional fee, but the products are still yours.
Does this sound like a store you girls would want to go to? Think of it like your favorite makeup counter that offers samples (if you have the courage to ask), but for less than a high end brand mascara you get an entire bag full of goodies.
You girls have brought up some great points that I hadn’t thought of yet. The store isn’t here just yet, but its something I’m thinking about doing.
Theres a store in Japan that works this way. They offer more stuff though, like food samples and whatnot, but I wanted to focus more on cosmetics. I was amazed to find out that companies will often pay to have their newest products featured in an environment like this; its like a huge focus group. You get awesome stuff, they get the research and opinions they need from their loyal customers. Thats why the survey is so important, but, understandably, so annoying at the same time.
I haven’t thought of how the additional fee would be enforced, but its something that definitely needs to be worked out. I **** surveys myself, so I need to figure out some way of making the companies that fund my project happy, but also keep customers coming back.
